Lady Gaga
This video was from the Ellen Degeneres Show. I'm always nervous about videos that come from a televised show but this one did not disappoint me. There wasn't a lot of unnecessary sound coming from the audience and all of the audio was clear and easy to understand.
How to Talk to Girls
This nine year old boy knows the ins and outs when it comes to talking to girls and going about relationships. This video actually has really good audio. It's from Youtube, but the audio is better than some of the videos I've seen from news stations. It looks like it could just be a video recorded at his house, but there is no background noise and it is very clear. Also, the fact that this kid is nine and you can understand everything he is saying is quite impressive.
Fashion
I thought I would try another video by Eight West and see if they have gotten any better than I thought they were- they haven't. I had hope in them, that they would eventually have a video that doesn't sound muffled. This video does not have very good audio.

Macy's Parade
I was extremely disappointed in the Macy's NYC parade gets into monkey biz video. When the woman is finally talking about the characters at the end it isn't quite as bad. However, at the beginning there is no sound except muffled background noise and it makes the video seem as though it is of cheap quality.

Antibiotics
This video about the healing properties of antibiotics was again, a little bit fuzzy. I thought the audio of this video was a bit better than some of the recent Wood TV videos I've watched.
Christmas Tree
Choosing a Christmas Tree was not the greatest video I have seen when it comes to audio, but it was not the worst either. I felt that the audio was a bit fuzzy, but overall it was pretty clear and I never questioned what these women were saying.

Holidays Around the World
This video discuses Holidays around the world at Frederik Meijer Gardens. This is by far one of the worst videos I have watched. I was not pleased by it at all. When I first started watching it I thought the news anchors sounded a little fuzzy. Then when they shifted to the women at Frederik Meijer Gardens, the audio quality plummeted. Granted, they were using Skype. Considering this video was on the news though, they could have and should have used a different technique.

Ancient Wonders in 3D
You don't need to watch this entire video because it's 12 minutes long. I like this video because it is live, but you don't hear a lot of background noises that could be coming from the audience. There probably wasn't a whole lot of background noise anyway because it's TED, but if there was any they did a good job of eliminating it. Also, the audio was great where the audio was coming from the voice you hear through the computer/projector the man had. This starts at 1:10. Any other time I've heard a computer through another computer it sounds blurry, and fuzzy, and you can't always understand what it's saying. In this video it is so clear you can't even tell it's coming from another audio source.

Sisters Reunite
This story is really touching. I did not find anything that I would improve on audio wise. I thought they did well. The audio and visuals they have are not too emotional and dramatic, but they are emotional enough to make you feel sad, yet happy for this family.

Rebuilding Haiti
In this video Sean Penn discusses rebuilding Haiti. I thought this video was done well in the sense that it captured emotion. It showed pictures of Haiti and the people there. The audio aspects were also done well. There was no background sound that could have been distracting. The part that was definitely not done well was the ending. The ending completely dropped off and there was not another video that continued it.

Football
Overall I think this video about football was done pretty well. With the occasional whistle blowing and the crowd cheering and screaming you can still easily hear what the reporters are saying. I'm not a huge fan of football but I did enjoy watching this video. I could feel the excitement. Something I thought they could have gone without however, were the actual voices of the cheerleaders. I thought it was a little distracting to hear actual words other than what the reporters were saying. The whistle blowing and screaming from the fans are noises that are basically background that we can easily block out. Whenever I heard the words the cheerleaders were saying I had to think about separating their words from the reporters.

Access Hollywood Video
I found this video on Access Hollywood, First of all, it wasn't one of the best videos I've seen in general, but the background noise was absolutely horrible. There is so much talking and muffled sounds in the background that to me it is distracting. I think that considering this video is on such a popular celebrity website, they could have taken out all of that background sound.

Homecoming King?
This is a news article I was introduced to this morning through my internship at WSNX, a Grand Rapids radio station. We used this piece as a segment and got many calls concerning the article. People calling had a number of reasons for taking one side over the other. Personally, I do not agree with the way this high school is dealing with the situation. I don't want to give the article away, so take a look and decide for yourself if Mona Shores High School is handling this the way they should.

Good Example of Multimedia
http://today.ucla.edu/portal/ut/mirror-mirror-off-the-wall-214885.aspx
I think this is a great article that everyone should read. People can always improve their confidence and gain a better self-image of themselves. This woman is such an inspiration. It makes me want to try to avoid looking at my body while I'm changing, or checking my make-up before I go to The Rock for lunch.

Bad Example of Multimedia
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvHwh9O9Tsg&feature=relmfu
I think this is a bad example of multimedia because it makes our society look more uneducated than we already seem. This video also feeds the stereotype of "dumb blondes." I understand randomly posting "fun" videos on Youtube, but this girl has too much time on her hands with the amount of videos she has similar to this one. Yes, I am going to put dogs in an oven and spin around dressed as a turtle the next time I'd rather do something else than clean my room.

This Is It
I never thought a blog was something I would have. I'll never remember to keep up with it unless I have it written all over the place in my agenda. I don't really like being on the computer very often, and I'm so busy that I often go a day or two without doing anything on the internet besides checking my email. I'm also not very technologically advanced. In fact, I hate technology, mostly the changes that are taking place at a faster pace than I want to keep up with. This class, however, I have a feeling will change my views on that. I will be learning how to use different forms of technology I am not used to.
